The Skin and Laser Centrum Altmühltal is located in the district Spitalstadt in Eichstätt and bears the distinctive design signature of Reimann Architecture. On an area of 380 square meters, there is a dermatology practice with an operating theatre as well as an individually accessible cosmetics department. The theme “skin” and its variety in structure and texture is one of the key design elements. This is reflected in polygonal and hexagonal shapes, different shades of rose and in natural as well as high end materials like rosy coloured floor planks, a reception desk made of Calacatta Statuario and custom made hexagonal concrete cubes, which can be found in the corridor and waiting areas. The use of natural and artificial materials creates an interesting tension between the naturalness of human skin and the sterility of a medical practice. The interior design offers clear visual axes, a subdued colour scheme and impeccable workmanship and detailing. Other design elements, which promote the flawlessness and naturalness of the interior are mirrored surfaces, soft padded panels, different shades of grey and clear architectural lighting.
